Fair service remedies
Refund Policy
This policy explains when a payment may be refunded, credited, or applied to replacement work and how a customer can request review.
A fair answer begins with the actual service delivered.
01. General principle
Refunds are based on the portion of service that was not delivered, preparation that was not completed, the timing of cancellation, and any specific written booking terms. Brightoria Learn aims to explain refund decisions clearly and process approved refunds through an appropriate method.
This policy does not limit a mandatory refund or consumer remedy required by applicable law.
02. Before a session is confirmed
An unaccepted inquiry creates no payment obligation. If a payment is collected but Brightoria Learn cannot accept or confirm the requested service, the collected amount will be refunded.
A temporary authorization or pending bank entry may take time to disappear according to the payment provider’s process.
03. Timely customer cancellation
When a customer cancels at least twenty-four hours before a live session, the customer may request a refund or service credit for that session, subject to any clearly disclosed nonrefundable preparation already completed.
Packages may be handled by returning the value allocated to the eligible unused session or restoring the session to the package.
04. Late cancellation and no-show
A session cancelled less than twenty-four hours before the start time, or missed without notice, is normally not refundable because the reserved time could not reasonably be reallocated.
Brightoria Learn may approve an exception for a genuine emergency or accessibility-related circumstance. An exception is discretionary unless applicable law requires it.
05. Tutor cancellation or non-delivery
If Brightoria Learn cannot deliver a confirmed session and the customer does not accept a reasonable replacement time or credit, the payment for the undelivered session will be refunded.
A brief, successfully delivered portion may be handled through a proportionate refund, replacement time, or full redo depending on what is fair and practical.
06. Technical failure
Customer-side device, connection, or software problems do not automatically create a refund right when the tutor was available and prepared. Brightoria Learn will consider the duration, troubleshooting efforts, and whether meaningful instruction occurred.
Tutor-side or service-wide technical failure that prevents meaningful delivery will normally qualify for replacement time, credit, or refund.
07. Personalized learning plans
A learning-plan fee covers analysis, organization, drafting, and any included review stated in the confirmation. Once substantive preparation has begun, the completed portion is not refundable merely because the customer changes plans.
If Brightoria Learn does not deliver the agreed plan within a reasonable confirmed period and no revised time is accepted, the undelivered portion will be refunded.
08. Completed services
A completed tutoring session or delivered custom plan is not refundable solely because the learner expected a different grade, found the work challenging, changed schools, chose not to use recommendations, or did not achieve a desired result.
A customer may still report a specific service defect. Brightoria Learn may offer correction, replacement work, credit, or refund when the concern is substantiated.
09. Packages and unused sessions
Eligibility for a package refund depends on the package terms, sessions already used, discounts applied, preparation completed, and any expiration period. Used sessions may be recalculated at the standard non-package rate before the remaining amount is determined if that method was disclosed before purchase.
No refund will reduce the customer’s statutory rights.
10. Duplicate or incorrect charge
A verified duplicate charge, incorrect amount, or payment collected for a service that was not ordered will be corrected or refunded. The customer should provide the date, amount, and transaction reference without sending complete card details.
Brightoria Learn may coordinate with the payment provider to confirm the record.
11. Refund method and timing
Approved refunds are generally returned to the original payment method. Brightoria Learn may use another lawful method when the original method is unavailable or when both parties agree.
Processing time depends on Shopify, the payment provider, banks, weekends, and currency systems. Brightoria Learn can confirm when a refund was initiated but cannot control the date a bank posts it.
12. Chargebacks
Customers are encouraged to contact the billing mailbox before initiating a payment dispute so records can be reviewed and a practical correction considered. This does not prevent a customer from using lawful rights with a card issuer.
Brightoria Learn may respond to a chargeback with booking, attendance, communication, delivery, and policy records relevant to the disputed transaction.
13. How to request a refund
A request should identify the customer, service, date, amount, reason, and preferred resolution. Do not include full payment-card information. Brightoria Learn may ask reasonable follow-up questions to verify the transaction and evaluate the request.
Approved and denied requests will be explained in a clear response where reasonably possible.
