Honest learning

Academic Integrity Policy

This policy distinguishes legitimate tutoring from prohibited assistance that would misrepresent a learner’s identity, authorship, participation, or achievement.

The goal is understanding that belongs to the learner.

01. Purpose

Brightoria Learn exists to help learners understand, practice, and organize knowledge. This Academic Integrity Policy protects that purpose by distinguishing legitimate tutoring from work that misrepresents authorship, identity, participation, or achievement.

The policy applies to learners, parents, guardians, and anyone requesting assistance.

02. Permitted tutoring support

  • Explaining a concept in different words or with a new example.
  • Reviewing a learner’s attempted work and identifying where reasoning changed direction.
  • Creating original practice questions that are not part of a prohibited live assessment.
  • Discussing assignment instructions and helping the learner plan an approach.
  • Teaching citation, research, note-taking, revision, and study methods.
  • Providing feedback that requires the learner to make the final decisions and revisions.
  • Reviewing previously completed or authorized materials for learning purposes.

03. Prohibited assistance

  • Taking a test, quiz, interview, practical assessment, or examination for the learner.
  • Logging into a learner’s school or testing account to submit work or communicate as the learner.
  • Completing an assignment intended to measure the learner’s independent performance and presenting it as the learner’s own.
  • Providing answers to an active closed-book or restricted assessment.
  • Fabricating sources, research, attendance, data, results, citations, or teacher communications.
  • Helping bypass plagiarism, proctoring, identity, monitoring, or access-control systems.
  • Writing admissions, scholarship, disciplinary, or personal statements in a way that falsely represents the applicant’s authorship or experience.

04. Homework assistance

Homework assistance may include clarifying instructions, working through a comparable example, asking guiding questions, reviewing an attempted solution, and helping the learner correct their own work.

When an assignment requires independent work, the learner must do the substantive thinking and final submission. The tutor may reduce assistance to preserve the assignment’s purpose.

05. Use of artificial intelligence

AI tools may be discussed as educational technology when permitted, but they must not be used to evade an institution’s rules or misrepresent authorship. Brightoria Learn will not assist with disguising unauthorized AI-generated work.

The learner should follow course disclosure, citation, and permitted-use requirements. When the rules are unclear, the learner should ask the instructor.

06. Writing and editing support

Permitted writing support may include brainstorming, outlining, explaining grammar, identifying unclear reasoning, teaching citation, and offering revision questions. The learner remains responsible for ideas, evidence, final language, and required disclosures.

Brightoria Learn may refuse a request for a ready-to-submit paper when doing so would replace the learner’s assessed work.

07. Mathematics, science, and technical work

A tutor may explain methods, solve comparable examples, inspect attempted steps, and help identify errors. For graded independent work, the learner should carry out the final solution and be able to explain it.

Brightoria Learn will not generate fabricated laboratory data, simulation output, code execution, or experimental observations.

08. Programming support

Programming tutoring may include explaining syntax, debugging learner-written code, discussing algorithms, and creating small teaching examples. The tutor will not knowingly complete a restricted assessment or conceal unauthorized copied code.

The learner must comply with repository, collaboration, library, and source-attribution rules.

09. Tests and assessments

Brightoria Learn may help review before an assessment using lawful materials and may discuss an assessment afterward when permitted. It will not provide real-time answers during a restricted assessment or access confidential test content.

The phrase “knowledge review” does not mean examination administration or answer provision.

10. Parent and guardian expectations

Parents and guardians should support honest learning and should not pressure a tutor to complete work to protect a grade or deadline. A short-term score obtained through misrepresentation can undermine the learner’s skill and create disciplinary risk.

Brightoria Learn may explain the policy directly to the responsible adult when a request crosses a boundary.

11. Unclear assignment rules

If the permitted level of collaboration is unclear, the safest step is to ask the instructor. Brightoria Learn may pause assistance until the customer provides the relevant rule or confirmation.

A customer’s statement that “everyone does it” does not establish permission.

12. Suspected misconduct

A tutor who reasonably suspects prohibited assistance may stop the task, explain the concern, and redirect the session to concept review or practice. Repeated or intentional requests may result in ending the session or service relationship.

Brightoria Learn is not required to investigate or adjudicate a school disciplinary case, but it may preserve relevant business records as permitted by the Privacy Policy.

13. Original materials and copyright

Academic integrity includes lawful use of copyrighted and licensed materials. Customers should not share unauthorized copies or ask Brightoria Learn to distribute restricted answer keys, textbooks, or course content.

The tutor may decline to retain or reproduce a material that appears unlawfully obtained.

14. Consequences within Brightoria Learn

A minor misunderstanding may be resolved through explanation and redirection. Serious, repeated, or deceptive conduct may lead to cancellation of a task, session, or future service.

Fees for reserved time or completed legitimate tutoring remain subject to the cancellation and refund policies.

15. Questions

A learner or parent should ask before a session if a school imposes special collaboration, honor-code, citation, AI, or tutoring restrictions. Sharing the relevant policy early allows the tutor to design appropriate support.

Brightoria Learn welcomes requests framed around understanding, practice, feedback, and independent skill.
